Bimaya De Silva is the Chief Operating Officer at Burstyn Law. She oversees the firm’s operations, working closely with attorneys handling complex, high-stakes civil and commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts in Florida and New York.

Bimaya is an Australian-qualified lawyer with over nine years of experience in complex civil and commercial litigation across multiple international jurisdictions, including Australia, Hong Kong, Guernsey, Malaysia, and the United States. She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia in April 2017 and holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (Honors) and a Bachelor of Arts from the Flinders University of South Australia.

Prior to relocating to Miami in 2023, Bimaya practiced for six years at two of Australia’s leading litigation firms, first as an Associate at Lipman Karas, an international specialist litigation practice, focusing on corporate insolvency, professional negligence, and corporate fraud, and then at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, one of Australia’s largest national commercial law firms, where she was promoted to Senior Associate.

Bimaya has been an active contributor to the legal profession and community throughout her career. She served as a committee member of the Women Lawyers’ Association of South Australia, the South Australian Young Lawyers’ Committee, and the Northern Territory Women Lawyers’ Association, and volunteered in the Aboriginal Law Student Mentoring Program.
